POWER FOR DAILY LIVING DEVOTIONAL - MONDAY 20TH APRIL 2020 TOPIC:DIVINE APPROVALTEXT: 1 SAMUEL 16:1

You cannot conclude that you have been rejected except God has rejected you. God queried Prophet
Samuel, “…how long will thou mourn over Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel?” King Saul was still on the throne when God declared his seat vacant. For every backsliding Saul, there is a David; for every backsliding house of Eli, there is a Samuel. So, seek divine approval more than man’s approval to escape ultimate rejection. David was rejected by his family but God did not reject him because he was a man after God’s heart. When Prophet Samuel went to anoint a king in the house of Jesse, David was left out. As the Prophet was about to anoint Eliab, the eldest son of Jesse, who had the required physique of a king, the oil could not flow. Same thing was applicable to other five sons until David, the last son and a bush boy showed up. The vial of oil can be in the hand of “Prophet Samuel” but the flow belongs to God. Be a man or woman after God’s heart for your head to be receptive to oil of promotion.
