POWER FOR DAILY LIVING DEVOTIONAL - THURSDAY 30TH APRIL 2020. TOPIC: THE RIGHT FOUNDATION (2)TEXT: PROVERBS 10:22

The blessing from the right foundation does not come with sorrow. The woman
of Shunem was operating on the right platform. In 2 Kings 4:8-11,
she ministered to Prophet
Elisha’s material needs. As a result, she obtained a reward for her labour of love. She conceived and brought forth a son. In the process of time, the child died. When her son died, the woman did not prepare for burial, rather she prepared for a miracle. She referred to her point of
contact by laying the dead child on the bed in the chamber that she made for the Man of God.
The woman of Shunem went back to her foundation. She ran to Elisha, her channel of miracle and the Prophet gave his mantle to his servant, Gehazi to raise the dead
child back to life but the mantle did not recognise the hand
of Gehazi. The Man of God had to personally go and raise the child back to life. This simply speaks that the miracle power of God is still very real but some people’s lifestyle or believe system may distort the flow of blessings. The Shunamite woman’s works proved that her lifestyle and believe system was right. That can’t be said of Gehazi because he ended up with double portion of leprosy. Do it right to get it right.
